Irrelevant Search Traffic – asdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjkl

So I recently visited this site about the keyword asdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjkl which is basically just what you’ll get if you put your hands on the keyboard and type starting with your left pinky, through your right ring finger and repeat a few times.  But you’d be surprised to learn that a decent number of people search on this.  Why?  Is it just being silly?  As a bigger question, is there any value in getting general, irrelevant traffic to a given site?  If you get enough surely someone will convert?  But is it worthwhile?

Networking in the SEO Industry

IMO, many people in this profession have too narrow a view of networking.  They get involved in SEO and then jump on Twitter, the blogs, forums, etc. and network that way.  That’s great.  But there is something to be said for offline networking too.  The conferences are great for that (Lord knows the content is rarely worth the ticket price!) and so are local SEO meetups.  But a little one-on-one business lunch ain’t so bad either.
